Final audit reports are public documents available to anyone requesting them, although they are provided to the audited municipality before they are publicly distributed. Most final reports are provided to media representatives, some with accompanying press releases. The formal response to our audit findings filed by local officials is included as an appendix to the final audit report.

We have received written notification that our grant application to the NY State Archives has been approved! We requested funding to inventory our records and organize them in conformance with NYS Archives format. Also included in our request was funding for approved records containers and shelving. Most of the storage containers and shelving we currently have do not meet their standards.

 

The amount of funding we will be receiving is $3,540 with $2,100 for support staff salaries and $1,440 for supplies and materials. The project must be completed by the end of June 2012. There will not be a need for additional hiring. Donna Weir, our Secretary, and Sara Decker, our back-up secretary will work together to complete the project.

 

Donna Weir and Doug Crandall, our Chairman, prepared and submitted our grant application with approval from the RLRD Board of Commissioners earlier this year.

The long awaited "Handbook" is here for residents to review in draft form. The draft will remain on our web site for the next 60 days to provide district residents the opportunity to comment on it's content and offer suggestions on ways to improve it, prior to being finalized by the Board of Commissioners. As many of you know, this project has been in the works for over 2 years. The ad hoc Rules Committee worked on it for over a year and then turned it over to the standing Rules Committee for completion. Beside our Commissioners, there were a number of residents who contributed to this effort at various times. Jenny and Danny Harris remained as contributors from the very beginning to it's completion! Thank you to everyone involved.

The RLRD Board decided at their October monthly meeting not to hold monthly meetings in January and February 2012. Therefore, if you have plans to to modify or construct your dock or breakwall, remove a tree or any other alteration on district property prior to our March 24, 2012 Monthly Meeting , your Permit request along with all the necessary documents must be received prior to December 1, 2011.
